Featuring Little Penguin nest box monitoring!
Operating since 2005, these multiple NSW and National Tourism Award winners are fully-hosted and guided experiences, and are regularly scheduled throughout the year by Conservation Volunteers Australia, our partners in these trips.

Individuals, couples or groups are invited to join a tour at a date to suit.
Ages 15 years and over - exceptions made for sole bookings

Each Hosted Conservation Tour provides the opportunity for you to participate in surveying 120 Penguin Nest Boxes, and contribute to the long term protection of the island's Little Penguin Colony. Participation is optional and no prior experience is required. Birds are observed, not handled, during survey. Bird numbers may be low at some times of the year.

These tours are also ideally suitable for corporate groups and business groups.

You can join an existing scheduled tour, or book a date for your own group. Tours are generally for two-nights duration, leaving at 9.30am and returning at lunchtime on the third day.

Your tour includes:

• Guided tour of the Island's south end
• Visits to the operating lighthouse
• Seal colony viewing  during the boat trip
• Gull and Tern breeding areas surrounding you in season
• Opportunity to monitor Little Penguins or assist other conservation projects
• Evening penguin viewing - seasonal June to March
• Check our wildlife calendar for an approximate guide
• Spectacular scenery
• Whale migration (June – July and Oct – Nov)
• Plenty of time to relax and soak up the surroundings

Note: In general tours, children MUST be over 15 years old. Younger children are catered for in sole-group bookings or on a scheduled school holiday child-friendly tour.

Costs include boat transfers, food (view sample menu) and accommodation in the fully-restored Head Keeper's Quarters. Check the accommodation and facilities here.

Optional snorkeling or diving trips with the seals are available by arrangement with a local charter operator for an extra cost. Subject to availability of boats and conditions. Snorkelling or diving directly from the Island itself is not permitted.

PLEASE NOTE:
Participants must be able to climb a ladder at the island jetty and walk up and down the Island's steep and rocky terrain. Persons with mobility issues are asked to check when booking. Some activities require moderate fitness levels.
